GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) — Green Bay Packers receiver Jordy Nelson, who is starting training camp on the physically unable to perform list, says he had a minor issue with his left knee this offseason.

Nelson called it a “little hiccup,” and that he wasn’t worried about it. Coach Mike McCarthy also says he has no long-term concern with Nelson’s health.

Still, Nelson thought he would be back on the field for the first practice of camp on Tuesday. He missed the entire 2015 season after tearing his right ACL 11 months ago.

Nelson says the issue with the left knee is not related to the ACL, and that he felt it while working out.

But he says the plan remains to be ready for the regular season opener in Jacksonville on Sept. 11.

MANHATTAN, Kan. – Senior Brian Rohleder, along with juniorsAustin Budke and Zach Winter, were honored for their academic excellence on Tuesday, as the trio were selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for the 2015-16 season.

It marks the second straight season that Rohleder was named to Honors Court, while Budke and Winter were named to the list for the first time. The three selections tied three other Big 12 schools (Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas) for the most in the league.

To be eligible for the Honors Court, a student-athlete must be either a junior or senior academically and must boast a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher at the conclusion of the 2015-16 academic year.

A two-time Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection, Rohleder saw action in 65 games in his four-year career before earning his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering this past May. In addition, he was one of six players named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 7 First Team.

Budke and Winter, both in their first seasons at K-State in 2015-16, transferred from Hutchinson Community College. Budke made an immediate impact, averaging 2.3 points and 2.0 rebounds in 13.1 minutes per game while playing in all 33 games. Winter saw time in 14 games, averaging 1.2 minutes off the bench.

The individual honors added to another outstanding academic year for the Wildcats, which saw a combined 11 student-athletes named to the Fall 2015 and Spring 2016 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Four players – Justin Edwards, Stephen Hurt, D.J. Johnson andRohleder – all earned their bachelor’s degrees this past May.

K-State, which is preparing for a 10-day trip to Italy and Switzerland, returns a veteran roster in 2016-17 with nine returning lettermen, highlighted by All-Big 12 Third Team selection Wesley Iwundu and All-Newcomer honorees Barry Brown and Dean Wade. Overall, the squad returns five of their top six scorers from last season, along with nearly 70 percent of its rebounding, assist, steal and minute totals.

The Wildcats will host an open practice on Saturday, August 6 at Bramlage Coliseum. Doors to the northwest and southwest entrances will open at 2 p.m., with a scrimmage beginning at 2:30 p.m. Following the practice, head coach Bruce Weber and selected players will address the crowd.
