Upgrading the Martha K. Hoover Women’s Health Center at Geary Community Hospital was one topic when the Geary County Commission received an update this week from Hospital CEO Dr. Joseph Stratton.

Stratton said that the money raised by the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation at their annual Holiday Glitz will go to support the upgrades at the Women’s Health Center, but additional money will be needed. “The project will take additional money over and above in order to really bring the women’s clinic up to date with equipment with kind of a makeover.” Stratton added there could possibly be more discussions with the Foundation and the Hospital to “pull together  some funding so that we can  complete the project.”

He said that will receive discussion, probably over the next month.
