A new mural will be painted on the south side of the Gun Junction building at Sixth and Washington.
It is a 2016 Crossroads of Leadership class project, but other community members may participate. Junction City Arts Council President Michael Gray said Crossroads members will be at the mural site with pencils, paints and their skills. “I will be simply supervising and probably coming over during my free time to put some details in. ” Gray said he’s also asked other artists that work closely with the Arts Council to participate.
Fundraising is under way for the project.
Crossroads class member Melissa Tyson explained the mural is being painted based on a J.J. Pennel collection photograph. “1897 photo named the Five Railroad Section On Hand Wagon.”
