The Junction City Commission has voted 5-0 to adopt the 2017 City budget.

There is only a slight increase in the property tax levy, about one-third of one mill…or specifically .375 of one mill.

The Geary County Commission this week approved a proposed budget for publication that includes an approximate 6.1 mill increase in the property tax levy. A public hearing and final consideration of that budget are scheduled August 29.

The Geary County Commission could reduce that 6.1 mill proposal but once it is published cannot increase it.
