Elaine Elizabeth Bishop, 79, of Manhattan, KS, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019.

Elaine was born in Chicago, IL on February 17, 1940. Her parents were Lillian (Tipman) and Edward Behrens.

She loved to play Yahtzee, go to the casinos and play the slot machines, solving crossword puzzles and watching TV, and she liked having a clean and organized home.

Elaine is survived by her two daughters, Jodie (Richard) Bailey, of Independence, MO; Terese (Gregory) Vontz, of Oberlin, KS; her two sons Bob (Stacy) Bishop, of Manhattan, KS; Derry M. (Lisa) Bishop, of Peoria, AZ; two sisters, Susan (Gary) Plummer, Darlene Sturlis, a brother, Edward “Butch” Behrens, an Aunt Sonja Martyniuk, 19 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, a granddaughter Crystal Bishop, a great-grandson Peyton Fife, and her former spouse Derry W. Bishop.

In lieu of flowers Memorials in her name can be made to the Meadowlark Hills Honstead House.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2019, at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A Visitation will be on Wednesday October 16, 2019 from 6:00 PM till 8:00 PM, Rosary at 7:00 PM at Carlson’s Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson’s Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
