Wagle campaigns in Geary County for U.S. Senate

Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, Susan Wagle, made Stacey’s Restaurant in Grandview Plaza a stopping point in her campaign on Saturday. She was able to visit with local residents.

Wagle told JC Post that she is one candidate with a proven record as a conservative, “a pro-Lifer, as someone who’s cleaned up the swamp in Topeka. And I’m the one candidate who can win both the primary and the general ( election ).”

Wagle is currently also the president of the Kansas Senate. She knows experience matters. ” It does matter. You have to know how to work with people, you need to learn how to earn their respect, and you need to learn how to negotiate. Everything in the legislative process is a compromise, and we need a voice going into this that will be strong in the U.S. Senate for Kansas.”

Wagle said it was a hard decision to decide to run. noting she has 15 grandchildren and her children are grown. “And it was a family decision. My young people said that they looked at the debt, the $23 trillion debt that the federal government refuses to deal with. They looked at our crisis in healthcare and immigration and they said mom we need somebody who will fix problems. So they were very supportive.”

The election is in 2020. Other Republican candidates for the Senate seat that is being vacated by Pat Roberts include Dave Lindstrom, Kris Kobach and Jake LaTurner. Roberts is planning to retire. Barry Grissom is the Democratic candidate for that seat.
