Geary County officials are working toward holding a sale of properties on which delinquent property taxes are owed, but a new state computer system which has some glitches is delaying the process.
Geary County Commission Chairman Charles Stimatze, said as of last Friday the county had collected $794, 857.86 and since April 1, 2018. “We’re in the process of trying to get everything filed with the District Court but since District Court has new programs there’s bugs in it they’re trying to get worked out.”
Stimatze noted that Geary and Riley counties are the pilot for the new state computer program, so there are some bugs to be worked out.
