Blake Reed was the top finisher for the Blue Jay boys cross country team at the Buhler Invitational on Thursday. He turned in a time of 19:50.1 to finish 32nd. For Junction City Isaiah Smith finished 37th in 20:11.8, Tristan Hicks 38th in 20:36.1 and Dain Yale 39th in 20:41.2. The Blue Jays had a point total of 189 and finished seventh in the team standings. Great Bend finished first with the low total of 32 point.
In the varsity girls competition Junction City was led by Cassidy Eschliman who finished 33rd in 25:13.7. Malia Silva was 39th in 26:06.8, Dakota Dochenetz 43rd in 26:28.4 and Murin Burkett 44th in 26:29.2. The Lady Jays finished seventh in the team standings with a score of 178 points. Great Bend won the team title with the low score of 33 points.
