Raymond August Pageler

Raymond August Pageler, 84, of Wells Creek Community, in rural Belvue, Kansas, died Thursday, September 5, 2019, at the Westy Community Care Home in Westmoreland.  He was a life-long member of the community.

Raymond was born on the family farm in Wells Creek on March 23, 1935, the son of August and Hattie Soelter Pageler.  Raymond was a farmer and stockman, operating the family farm.  He also was an auctioneer for over thirty years and owned Pageler Auction Service.  Raymond also did welding for Luttig Welding in Emmett.

Raymond was a member of Immanuel Community Church at Wells Creek and served in many different positions over the years. He was a member of the Auctioneers Association and loved to play cards, especially Pitch.

Raymond married Elizabeth Wedel in November of 1958.  They were later divorced.  He then married Florence Neff-Kerwitz on June 5, 1975, at Wells Creek.  She preceded him in death on February 14, 2013.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Syrena Pageler, Topeka and Patricia Tuck, Hoyt; his grandchildren, Jonathan Tuck, Bernard Tuck and Briann Nesbitt (Joel), all of Topeka, Nicholas Tuck (Jessica Arnwine), Kansas City, and Derek Tuck (Tristyn Wamego), Mayetta; and great-grand son, Landyn and baby Nesbitt due soon; and his sister, LaVern Pageler, Wamego.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lena Pageler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 13, 2019, at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego.  Reverend Tim Pearson will be officiating.  Burial will follow at the Immanuel Community Church Cemetery.  Raymond will lie-in-state, on Thursday, beginning at 2:00 pm and the family will greet friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  They suggest memorial contributions to Immanuel Community Church or The Parkinson’s Foundation, and those may be sent in care of the mortuary.
