Lady Jay tennis has opened their season

The Junction City Lady Jay tennis team began its season with a home quadrangular against Lawrence Free State, Manhattan and Salina South on Thursday.

Coach Matt Micheel said  Sierra Stage and Avery Jacobsen teamed up to record the lone victory for the Lady Jays by winning their match in a tiebreaker giving them a 1-2 record on the day.  Other participants for the Lady Jays were Abby Rosauer and Erilinne Thornton at #1 doubles, Krysta Talley at #1 singles and Anna Torres at #2 singles.

Team results had Salina South and Manhattan tied for first place with 10 wins, followed by Lawrence Free State (3) and Junction City (1).  The Lady Jays will compete in the Washburn Rural Quadrangular next Thursday, September 12.  Matches will start at 3 pm.
