Kenley Don Horton, age 30, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2019.  There will be a visitation on Thursday, September 5, 2019 from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. at the Council Grove/Dunlap United Methodist Church in Council Grove. His funeral service will be held Friday, September 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., also at the United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Kenley Horton Memorial Fund, which will go towards his children’s education.

He was born on November 19, 1988 to Brad and Gail (Patterson) Horton of Council Grove. He married Samantha (Carson) Horton on April 30, 2016. He has a son, Hayden (age 9), and daughter, Haddie (age 1). He was a caring and loving son, husband, father, brother, and friend to everyone who knew him.

He was a graduate of Council Grove High School. He worked with his father at Bosch Furniture through high school. He continued to help run the business until his father’s passing. He then took over the business and renamed it Horton Home Solutions where he worked until his passing.

Kenley was a very active individual and in his spare time he loved, most importantly, to spend time with his two children teaching them about the things he loved. He loved making memories with family and friends, water skiing, snow skiing, and riding motorcycles and dirt bikes. Kenley was well known for his wittiness and ability to make others laugh and smile.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brad Horton and grandfathers, Don Horton and Dick Patterson.

He is survived by his grandmothers, Bert Horton and Bobbi Patterson; mother, Gail Horton; brothers, Kyle Horton, Cory Horton, Casey Horton, and Colby Horton; wife, Sam Horton; son, Hayden Horton and daughter Haddie Horton.

His smile, laughter, and love will always be cherished.
