Geary County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau Director Michelle Stimatze has announced that the annual Float Your Boat cardboard boat races will be cancelled this year. The event had been scheduled at the Gathering Pond area below the Milford Lake Dam on August 10th.

Stimatze confirmed the event had to be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of the CVB. “We know many of you look forward to this fun-filled event and so do we. However, mark your calendars for Saturday, August 8, 2020 for the next annual Float Your Boat cardboard boat race.”

Participants in Float Your Boat use cardboard to make boats which they then use to travel on a designated course over the water. There are different divisions of competition in this event.
