Jearld Lee Mathews,

Jearld Lee Mathews, 79, of Junction City, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Jearld was born in Campo, CO on June 4, 1940, to Winifred Grace (Jenkins) and Earl Mathews.

On September 3, 1963, he married the love of this life, Carol Ann (Wilson) Mathews, and together they had three children.

Jearld served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant, he retired from the Military as an Army Medic and Mechanic. After his retirement, he worked as a mechanic for Ryder, drove buses for both the schools and the military, and volunteered as the Playground Supervisor at the school where his wife taught.

He is survived by his wife Carol Mathews of Junction City, his two daughters, Cindy (Kelvin) Poe, of Wamego, KS, Julie (Roger) Williams, of Ottawa, KS; and his son, Jerry (Becky) Mathews, of Fallon, NV, his two sisters, Jan Morris, and Judy Hopper, and
a brother, Jackie Mathews. He is also survived by 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren

Graveside Service with Military Honors will be at the Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery on Monday, July 29, 2019, at 10:00 AM.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:30 on Monday, July 29th at the First Christian Church in Junction City, KS.

Memorials in his name can be made to the First Christian Church in Junction City, KS.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson’s Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home and Cremation.
