Kevin Lynn Baker

Kevin Lynn Baker, 56, of rural Wamego, Kansas, died Saturday, June 29, 2019, at his home.  He was a life-long resident of the community.

Kevin was born on August 28, 1962, in Wamego, the son of Kennyth and Elna Redmon Baker.  He attended local schools and graduated from Wamego High School.

Kevin was a metal fabricator.  He worked many years for Baldersons, Catepillar, Dymax and other fabrication companies.  He also owned and operated KB Designs.  Kevin loved designing metal art, kayaking, biking and shooting sports.  He was a conservative republican and a patriot.  He enjoyed raising chickens, was an avid Chiefs fan, and he was the family comedian.  His biggest passion, however, was the time spent with his grandsons.

Kevin married Martie Eichem on June 25, 1983 in Wamego.  She survives at their home.

He is also survived by his two sons; Michael Baker (Shay), Wamego and Mathew Baker (Katie), Burlingame; his grandsons, Carsyn, Corvyn and Cowyn Baker; his siblings, Bonnie Baker, Topeka, Cheryl Yonning, Wamego, Barbara Molden, St. George, Judi Reinerio (Rick), Manhattan, and Karie Baker, Wamego; his mother-in-law, Maxine Eichem; his sister-in-laws, Vicki Ritchie, McFarland and Yolanda Baker, Wamego; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kennyth Baker, Jr.; his brothers-in-law, Gary Yonning, Rick Molden, Wendy Eichem,Ted Eichem, and Charlie Ritchie; father-in-law, Lester Eichem.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6, 2018, at Campanella-Evans Mortuary in Wamego. Inurnment will follow at Louisville Cemetery.  The family will greet friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 p.m. They suggest memorial contributions to help with funeral expenses be made to Campanella-Evans Mortuary.
