Bryant Keith Artis

Bryant Keith Artis (Brandy, Big B, Keedie), 60, of Suffolk, VA and Manhattan, KS, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 in Pittsburg, KS.

Bryant was born in Suffolk, VA on February 13, 1959, the son of Rosa Mae Artis and James Artis.

After high school, he was in Job Corps and then went into the US Army. While stationed in Ft Riley, KS, he met and later married Cynthia (Birdsong) Artis. Though their thirteen year union resulted in divorce, they remained good friends. Through this union, he is survived by two daughters Tychelle Schie’rre Jones, Manhattan, KS and Audrey Lynne Artis, Manhattan, KS. His three grandchildren who loved their PaPa dearly; De’Shon Tyrelle Vassol, Manhattan, KS; DaTasia Danyelle Vassol, Manhattan, KS; and JeNiyah Schie’rre Jones, Manhattan, KS.

He had various different job skills which he used throughout the years. Bryant loved music, hanging with friends and family, and most recently going to the casino with his girlfriend.

His other survivors include:

His mother Rosa Mae Artis (VA); brother Landa Artis (VA); brother Marvin Artis (NY); brother Donald Artis (VA); sister Deborah Artis-Esley (VA).

His girlfriend of eight years and caregiver through his illness up until his death, Terri Lowder.

A host of cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

He is preceeded in death by his grandparents and father James Artis.
