Severe weather recap

What a way to start the morning!

A dose of severe Kansas weather blew in from the north packing rain and wind gusts estimated as high as 50 to 60 miles an hour.  Just ahead of the storm’s arrival the National Weather Service issued a thunderstorm warning for Junction City, Geary County and the surrounding region.  There were also reports of blown electrical equipment, scattered power outages and downed tree limbs, according to Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges

Severe storms are possible again by late afternoon Saturday with more likely chances through the night. The National Weather Service reports damaging winds, large hail and torrential rainfall could occur with the storms.
