The Junction City Parks and Recreation Department has announced three upcoming events this spring.
They include a spring dance for 6th through 8th grade students on April 26th from 7-10:30 p.m. at the 12th Street Community Center. The cost to attend is $3. A student I.D. is required.
There will be a Land Navigation event Saturday, may 18th from 9-11:30 a.m. where you can experience an outdoors opportunity for orienteering at the 90 acre B & G Farm. This is for 10-14 year old youth. Twelve participants are being sought to learn how to determine your pace correctly, identify an object at a given azimuth, five five orienteering points and learn about dependability, strength, adaptability, perseverance and purpose. To register contact the 12th Street Community Center at 785-238-7529. Registration runs until May 10th. Those attending should wear long pants, tennis shoes or hiking boots and long sleeves.
And there will be a School’s Out Family Bash on May 24th. This will be a summer party for k-8th graders at the 12th Street Community Center from 4-8 p.m. for family, food and fun. There will be a lot of games both inside and outside. It will be a free event.
