Konza Prairie Community Health and Dental Center is using the month-long observance of National Children’s Dental Health Month in February to provide oral hygiene outreach in the Geary and Riley County communities. The national slogan this year is “Brush and clean in between to build a healthy smile.”
Konza dental staff are facilitating oral hygiene presentations this month at multiple preschools in the Junction City and Manhattan communities to promote healthy habits and reduce anxiety around dental care. “Good oral care helps keep baby teeth strong and promotes healthy permanent teeth for a lifetime. A healthy smile is important to a child’s self-esteem. Sometimes there is fear associated with going to the dentist, we want to connect with children where they are and establish relationships that help to reduce that fear and make routine dental care easier for the whole family, said Dr. Taylor Pratt, Konza dentist.
Konza’s team of seven dentists and more than 25 support staff routinely provide cleanings, fillings, root canals, crowns and more. their dental outreach staff are embedded in USD 475 and USD 383 schools districts and provide quality care for students on-site.
