Preventing pediatric obesity in children will be the focus of workshops

“Raising Healthy Kids” Preventing Pediatric Obesity will the focus of a series of workshops at the Martha K. Hoover Women’s Center conference room at Geary Community Hospital.

According to a news release from GCH the sessions will be free, informative and interactive sessions to discuss strategies on preventing pediatric obesity and helping kids eat healthy. The dates and times are Tuesday, February 19th from noon to 1 p.m. and 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 20th noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, February 21st noon to 1 p.m. and Saturday, February 23rd from 10-11 a.m.

The sessions will be conducted by Jennifer Prinz-Shakespeare, APRN-C.

Topics of discussion will include healthy snacks, how to get your child to be active and nutrition recommendations.
