Milford Lake target level reached

The Corps of Engineers at Milford Lake has announced that they have reached their target level of 1141.4 feet. They plan to maintain the lake elevation at that level until mid-March, then gradually increase it to 1143.00. They will maintain that higher level, which is actually 1.4 feet below normal, throughout the summer.

The current lake elevation is 1141.19, inflow at the Clay Center gauge 2,170 cubic feet per second, and 1,000 cfs are being released from the reservoir.

One factor in the lake drawdown is that is part of the attempt to help control zebra mussels and future blue green algae issues.
