The Hope High After Prom is an event organized by parents in Hope to provide an alcohol-free alternative to the traditional drinking parties. A goal of the project is to avoid the tragedy of drinking and driving accidents, and organizers hope to implement a substance-free celebration for the students in the community to prevent tragedies.
According to information from the planning committee Co-Chairs Charlotte Barten and Melissa Schrader an After Prom Party for Hope High School students and their guests is being planned following the Junior – Senior Prom on April 27th as a joint school, family, community and business project.
This will be the 31st year for this type of celebration for the students of Hope High School. There are no public funds available for the project, and organizers must raise the full amount needed. Contributions will be accepted.
Checks for the substance-free party should be made out to “Hope After Prom.” If you would prefer to donate merchandise or gift certificates, that could be used for door prizes. For tax purposes, if requested, organizers will provide the appropriate receipt for donation.
