The annual event sponsored by the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation was held Thursday evening in the Tribute Garden at Geary Community Hospital. Foundation Director Jolana Montgomery – Matney stated, “It is only fitting that this tribute garden provide a place of solitude, a place of remembrance, a place to honor the memory of those who inscribed here, those names who will be read tonight, and all those people who live on in our hearts.”

The names of community members and loved ones who have passed away are submitted and are read during the Holiday Tree of Memories. Those in attendance at the ceremony held lit candles. Montgomery-Matney told them, “By this firelight let us remember those individuals who have been light or provided light for us, light so special that even death can dim their memory or diminish their impact on our lives.”
