The annual United Way Day of Caring in Geary County is Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon.

Volunteers are invited to help local elderly and disabled homeowners with outdoor projects that may need to be completed. They can include mowing and trimming grass, raking leaves, cleaning gutters, cleaning exterior windows and changing smoke detector batteries or light bulbs.

Volunteers are asked to bring any equipment they have available.
