One Gas, Inc. has announced that the Kansas Gas Service division has been selected by the U.S. Government to own, operate and maintain the natural gas distribution facilities at Fort Riley under a 50-year contract. The terms of the privatization contract must still be reviewed by the Kansas Corporation Commission and, if approved, Kansas Gas Service will start the transition process with an intent to commence operations in April 2020.

One Gas’ local distribution companies provide similar services to Fort Bliss in El paso, Texas, and Fort Sill in Lawton, Oklahoma. “We are dedicated to safety and providing the highest quality of service,” said Caron Lawhorn, senior vice president – commercial, One Gas, Inc. “We’re pleased to support vital military operations in the state of Kansas by partnering with the Federal Government to provide safe and reliable service to Fort Riley.”
