Fall Classic Raises Funds for Hospital Project

The Geary Community Healthcare Foundation hosted their 19th annual Fall Classic Golf Tournament at Rolling Meadows Golf Course last Friday. The event raised $33,607.

The funding will be used to help pay for the renovation and expansion of Suites 101 and 102 in the Medical Arts Building I at Geary Community Hospital.

A total of 160 golfers participated in the event.

The championship team members for the 2018 Fall Classic included Dr. Todd Frieze, Chris Klick, Harold Oakleaf and Garrett Rediker. They were each awarded cash and gift prizes in addition to individual trophies.

Earlier this year Foundation Executive Director Jolana Montgomery-Matney announced she planned to retire April 1, 2019. At her 19th and final Fall Classic Montgomery-Matney was honored for starting that event and thanked for her work to raise more than $558,000 through the Fall Classic. Money raised has helped fund healthcare needs at Geary Community Hospital, and for other projects in Junction City and Geary County.
