The Geary County Sheriff’s Department has reported that Deputies responded to U.S. 77 Highway Tuesday afternoon for a two-vehicle injury accident.

Deshaun Mitchell-Thomas, Ft. Riley, was traveling north in a 2016 Chrysler when he decided to attempt to do a U-turn on the highway. Eliezer Perez-Hernandez was traveling north behind Mitchell-Thomas in a 2013 Jeep Wrangler and was unable to stop in time before colliding with Mitchell-Thomas’ vehicle.

Mitchell-Thomas received medical treatment to his eye due to the air bag deployment.

The accident occurred just after 4 p.m. Tuesday.
