SALINE COUNTY — An Abilene man was injured in an accident just after 7 a.m. Thursday in Saline County.

The Saline County Sheriff reported a 2017 Nissan Sentra driven by Lyle Westendorf, 57, Abilene, was southbound on Interstate 135. The driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a guardrail.

A thunderstorm was moving through the area and the car may have hydroplaned, according to Soldan.

Westendorf was transported o Salina Regional Health Center for treatment of what is believed to be non life threatening injuries, according to Soldan.
