T
he Geary USD 475 Board of Education has authorized a District Facilities Engineering Study to be done.
The goal is to use it to revise and update the six-year master plan for the district, explains Chief Operations Officer David Wild. “Plan addresses all of the District facilities. We’re not talking about teaching or learning or anything like that. It’s infrastructure, heating and cooling system. flooring, ceiling, electrical everything that you can think of related to a District facility we’re asking the Board to recommission an engineering study and reset priorities for repair and replacement.”
The study will be done by Schaefer Johnson Cox Frey Architecture, and they will commission an engineering firm to do the review of facilities.
The cost of the study that will be brought back to the Board in the spring for consideration will be $25,000 if they approve it, but if they reject it the cost will be $35,000.
