The Junction City Brigade lost to the Topeka Golden Giants 3-2 in the opening game of the championship series for the Mid Plains League Thursday night in Topeka.

Game two is tonight at 7 p.m. at Rathert Field in Junction City.

This is a best two out of three series so if the Golden Giants win Friday night they claim the Cowdin Cup that goes to the league champion. If there is a game three it will be Saturday night in Topeka.
