Junction City police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of North East Street for a check welfare case at 6:11 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The subject was transported to Geary Community Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Police reported that the deceased has been identified as Solomon Okoeguale Jr., 21, Junction City. An autopsy was performed, and no foul play is suspected.
