The program to spruce up the appearance of East Chestnut Street in Junction City moved forward on Friday.

Flowers and shrubs are being planted in 16 different flower boxes along that street. Local organizations and individuals helped sponsor this project, which was spearheaded by Junction City Commissioner Phyllis Fitzgerald.
