The Junction City Blue Jays and Manhattan Indians split their baseball doubleheader Tuesday at Rathert Field.
Behind the pitching of Thane McDaniel, the Blue Jays ( 11-7 ) defeated the Indians 5-2 in game one. McDaniel went six and two-thirds innings on the mound. And he made a stellar defensive stop at shortstop in the seventh inning to help prevent a Manhattan run from scoring.
Ashton Wiegand also had a big game for Junction City when he collected three hits and scored two runs.
In game two Manhattan ( 13-7 ) defeated Junction City 4-2.
