Blue Jay Tennis Report

Junction City High School hosted a varsity quadrangular on Friday afternoon.  The Blue Jay tennis team competed against Lawrence Free State, Manhattan and Topeka High.

In the first round, the Blue Jays defeated Lawrence Free State in all four matches.  The highlight came from the number one doubles spot where Mason Richards and Luke Craft came back from a 5-0 deficit in doubles to win 8-6.   Yuno Fernandez, top singles flight, and Aaron Reutzel, second singles spot, both won their matches along with the other doubles team of Nolan Rothfuss and Jace Goheen.

The same lineup was used the entire night.  In the second round, against Topeka High, the Blue Jays again won #1 Doubles and then followed with wins from the #1 and 2 singles spots to win three of the four matches against the Trojans.

In the final round, Manhattan got the best of the Blue Jays winning all four matches.  The Blue Jay Tennis Team next travels to Topeka for the Centennial League Tournament on Monday, April 30.  Matches will begin at 9 am.
