The Blue Jay tennis team traveled to Topeka on Monday for the Topeka High Invitational. Kody Westerhaus led the Blue Jays by earning a runner up finish in the second singles flight. He went 4-1 on the day losing only in the championship match.
All other Blue Jay tennis players went 2-3 on the day. Mason Richards represented the Jays in the top flight of singles, Luke Craft and Yuno Fernandez teamed up in the top flight of doubles and Nolan Rothfuss and Aaron Reutzel competed in the second flight of doubles.
Overall, the Blue Jays finished 6th place as a team. Ten teams were involved in the tournament. The Blue Jays next travel to Salina for the Mustang Classic II this Thursday. Matches begin at 3 pm.
