Coach Braden, “It was a good afternoon for a track meet in Lincoln today. Coach Lund, coach Perry, and myself came away from this meet feeling good about many of the Bombers performances. Senior Justin Carver ran a great anchor leg on the 4 x 100 meter relay, coming up just shy of the silver medal in that race. Senior Sammy Finnegan took 3rd in the 100 and 1st in the 200 meter dashes. Sophomore Dalton Murray took home the gold in the 3200 and silver in the 1600 meter runs, both with personal best times those events. Freshman Kelly Flickinger finished with both silvers in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs, also with personal best times in those events as well. Sophomores Kaleb White and Katie Brady took home a bronze in the high jump and a silver in the pole vault to add more hardware for the Bombers. Freshman Elaina Hammond picked up a few points toward her letter as she placed in both the discus and the 800 meter run and her classmate, Kaden Richardson, flew to a personal best jump in the long jump to round out a very good day for all.”
Wakefield’s next meet will be this coming Tuesday April 24th when the Bombers travel to Clay Center for the Clay Center Junior Varsity meet and then on Thursday April 26th the Bombers travel to Manhattan for the Manhattan Small School Invitational Meet which will be held at Cico Park.
