Henington Gets into Spring Game

Ryan Henington entered the Kansas State football spring game at quarterback for the White team with 8:35 to go in the third quarter on Saturday and helped lead them on a 75-yard drive that ended in a touchdown.

The former Junction City Blue Jay quarterback who is now at Kansas State University was in the game for one series. He opened it with a six yard pass completion and ended up completing three of five passes for 20 yards. He also  rushed one time for 16 yards and a first down. The drive ended when Luke Sowa took a hand off from Henington and scored on a 39 yard touchdown run with 5:33 remaining in the quarter.

Henington is a redshirt freshman at K-State so it was first time for him on the field for the Wildcats in any kind of game situation. He is one of six quarterbacks listed on the K-State roster, and one of five who played in the game. He is a 2017 graduate of Junction City High School.

The Purple team defeated the White team in the spring game 31-28.
