The Junction City boys tennis team traveled to Manhattan for a quadrangular against Manhattan, Marysville and Highland Park. The Blue Jays had a successful day as they finished as 2nd overall as a team. Jace Goheen, Nolan Rothfuss and Aaron Reutzel all won two matches on the day.
In the first round against Marysville the Blue Jays picked up two wins. Rothfuss and Goheen won the top doubles spot 8-6 and Reutzel won his singles match. Against Highland Park, Junction City picked up wins at both singles spots as Yuno Fernandez won 8-0 at the top singles spot and Goheen won the other singles spot. Rothfuss and Reutzel teamed up to get a doubles win at the top spot giving them three victories against Highland Park. In the final round, Manhattan was too much for the Blue Jays as they took all four matches.
The Blue Jay tennis team next competes in the Topeka Seaman Invite on Wednesday. The tournament starts at 3:30 pm.
