The Seaman Vikings boy and girls basketball teams cruised past Junction City ( 7-11 ) Friday night at the Shenk Gym.
In the boys contest the Vikings ( 12-6 ) jumped out to a 16-6 first quarter lead and never trailed enroute to a 59-43 victory over Junction City.
Blue Jay Coach Nick Perez noted Seaman played extremely well and made some shots early which got the Vikings from there. On the Blue Jay performance Perez said, “I just felt like our guys didn’t come ready to play.” It left the coach struggling for answers, with Perez adding he has to do a better job as head coach of getting the team ready to go and mentally prepared.
In the girls game Seaman rolled to a 68-52 victory over the Lady jays.
Junction City coach Derek Petty also indicated he didn’t feel the Lady Jays were as focused as they were in the last few games.
Junction City teams play at Manhattan on Tuesday.
