Junction City-Geary County Crime Stoppers President Paula Krueger and board member Rick Roberts were recent guests on JC Now to discuss the benefits the organization offers the community.
Crime Stoppers provides a means of communication for members of the public to anonymously prove law enforcement agencies with information on crimes or suspects.
Tipsters can give information without revealing their identity and may be eligible for a financial reward for the information they provide. According to Krueger, reporting a successful tip could net anywhere from a $200-$1000 reward.
While not all tips lead to solving a crime, Roberts says there are other ways those tips can help law enforcement.
“In years past we’ve seen where it may not necessarily be the tip that leads to the arrest, but it could be a tip that brings two other leads together,” Roberts said. “Then they’re able to solve that crime because of that one tip.”
If you would like to report a tip regarding a crime or suspect you can reach Crime Stoppers at 785-762-TIPS (8477).
