Approximately 425 people attended the Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Junction City at the First Presbyterian Church on Thursday.

Coordinator Margaret Kilpatrick provided the estimate, noting a wide variety of residents attended. “People of all sizes, races, personalities, just a group of happy people and people that wanted to eat.”

The menu ranged from turkey and ham to green beans, mashed potatoes plus pies and cakes.

Kilpatrick knows this has become a regular annual event for some people. “And I like that. Someone told me when they left today I’ll see you next year. Some young man said I’ve never been asked to volunteer, and he gave me his name and address and asked me to call him next year. And that’s what we want.”

This was the 15 year that Kilpatrick had coordinated this event.
