Inside Santa’s Workshop is the theme for the 22nd annual Junction City Area Chamber of Commerce Christmas parade. It begins at 5:30 p.m. Friday and will be broadcast on 1420 KJCK AM, and be live streamed by Eagle Communications Television.
Forty-one entries are registered for the parade, beginning with the Commanding General’s Mounted Color Guard and the 1st Infantry Division Band. Numerous other entries range from Clarabels Dance Studio and The Next Step Dance Studio to the City Cycle / Flint Hills Harley Owners Group. Junction CIty High School will be represented with the J-Steppers and the JCHS Marching Band. There will be representation from local
businesses, organizations and churches.
Junction City Mayor Phyllis Fitzgerald will ride in a convertible in the parade. “The parade is always important to the community because it’s our way of uniting, getting out with each other, enjoying spending time, and enjoying all the floats and just seeing all the effort that the children and the different organizations are going to be doing to put together their float to celebrate the Christmas season.”
The parade will begin in the parking lot at Junction City High School, travel down Eisenhower Drive, and then down 6th Street to the downtown area.
At the conclusion of the parade Santa Claus will arrive in Heritage Park to flip the switch to turn on the Christmas ornament lights and meet with children to hear their Christmas wishes.
