Riley County and Lawrence Police Departments are continuing to try and make their communities safer.
As the Thanksgiving break approaches they are reminding college students that areas of high densities of student housing are often targeted by criminals during breaks in the academic calendar because a majority of residents are out of town.
They are also reminding students that both agencies continue to jointly investigate cases involving the Kansas College Rapist. WIth the exception of the very first incident, each coincided with a break from classes at the University of Kansas or Kansas State University.
Residents are encouraged to be vigilant in their efforts to exercise personal safety and report any suspicious activities during the upcoming Thanksgiving break. For those who do not travel during Thanksgiving break, it is important to pay extra attention to activities surrounding your home.
