Central National Bank representatives presented a check for $100,000 to the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation in support of their upcoming joint project with Children’s Mercy Hospital out of Kansas City. Donated funds are to be used to build a new 7,000 square foot clinic in existing space at Geary Community Hospital.
“It is a real tribute to our community that Junction City was selected as the location for the regional Children’s Mercy Clinic to be established; we are very pleased to help support this project that will provide specialized medical care for children”, said Robert Munson, Central National Bank President in Junction City. “Excellent health care is an important part of the overall quality of life provided by a community; the addition of this new clinic for pediatric medical care within Geary Community Hospital will enhance the quality of life for children and families.”
The project is slated to begin construction in August of 2017 and completion is projected to be the Spring of 2018. The clinic will serve Junction City and surrounding communities, providing necessary, specialized care for children much closer to home than has been available in the past.
“We are so pleased to have Central National Bank as one of the key sponsors of this project,” said Jolana Montgomery-Matney, Executive Director of the Geary Community Healthcare Foundation. “The Healthcare Foundation has had a close working relationship with Central National through the years, and it’s been a joy to work with them.”
Representing Central National Bank at the check presentation were: Robert Munson, Junction City President; Chris Munson, Board Member; Ed J. Rolfs, Chairman Emeritus; Duane Blythe, Trust & Wealth Management Division Director; Amanda Rolfs, Marketing Director; and Sara Girard, President. The check was presented to Jolana Montgomery-Matney, Executive Director of the Healthcare Foundation.
“Central National Bank has been proud to serve Junction City for over 130 years,” said Sara Girard, Central National Bank President. “We value our customers and our community, and we encourage good corporate citizenship. Our employees are very involved locally, donating their time and energy to numerous organizations. It’s an honor to be able to invest in the future success of Junction City through this project.”
