The Junction City Brigade sent 11 hitters to the plate in the sixth inning Monday night at Rathert Field as they broke open a close game with the Baldwin City Blues. The Brigade snapped a five-game losing streak with a 9-5 victory over the Blues.
In the sixth inning Baldwin City pitchers hit four consecutive Brigade hitters with a pitch and also walked one, gave up two hits, and the Blues committed a fielding error which allowed a base runner. The game was 2-2 until the Brigade seven runs in that sixth inning.
Junction City ( 8-6 ) plays at Baldwin City tonight at seven o’clock.
