The Midwest Veterans swept the Junction City Brigade 4-3 and 5-4 at Rathert Field Monday night.
The Veterans used a grand slam home run in the second game by Chase Edwards and then tacked on another run in the fifth to hold off Junction City. In game one an outfield collision by two members of the Brigade team resulted in a fly ball dropping onto the field, and led to the winning run for Midwest late in the game.
Midwest is 3-6 while the Brigade fell to 7-3 on the season.
