When the Blue Jays host the Topeka West Chargers Friday night it will be “Tribute to the Troops” night at Al Simpler Stadium.

JCHS Athletic Director Matt Westerhaus sasid the 97th Military Police Battalion will be in attendance. “They will run the team out, be part of the coin toss, and then there’s going to be a K-9 demonstration at halftime like we’ve done in the past.”

There will be a Salute to Our Heroes recognition between the first and second quarters. “Just as a tribute to them and service to our country, and tonight we’re going to recognize ( Dennis )  Buzz Bruzina. So we’ll have a little synposis of Buzz’ service time. It will be a special time each home game to do that.”

The football game begins at 7 p.m.
