Geary County Historical Society Hiring Program and Education Coordinator

Geary County Historical Society is seeking qualified applicants for the position

of Director of Programs and Education. The Program and Education Director will have the opportunity to develop and implement educational programs for people of all ages in the Geary County community.

The Program and Education Director’s duties include the following:

  • presenting educational programs about the history of Geary county to people of all ages
  • working with USD 475 to coordinate events and develop programs for students and youth
  • planning and scheduling tours and educational programs
  • publishing weekly newspaper articles about Geary county history
  • publicizing programs and events via news releases, radio interviews and flyers
  • attending GCHS meetings and professional conferences
  • training and recruiting volunteers
  • other duties as assigned

Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in history, communication/English, and/or education; two years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and education as approved by the Personnel Committee.
