Geary County Historical Society Seeks Stories, Artifacts for Year of the Soldier

gchs museumThe Geary County Historical Society will celebrate the Year of the Soldier in 2017 in honor of the community’s longstanding relationship with the military and Fort Riley. This will be conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the American entry into World War One and the 100th anniversary of the 1st Infantry Division.

To help celebrate, the museum is requesting personal stories and loans of artifacts of photos relating to Geary County soldiers from any era and their families for all new exhibits. If you weren’t a soldier, but have a story about holding down the homefront or are you the spouse of a soldier, a mother, son or daughter? Those stories are wanted.
