The ongoing problem with blue green algae at Milford Lake will be the focus of a meeting Monday evening in Wakefield.

State Representative Lonnie Clark of Junction City said he will be in attendance. “Actually going to be at the boat ramp at Wakefield Park Monday night at 6:30. KDHE will be there.” Clark added State Representative Susie Swanson, who coordinated the meeting, and other local officials and constitutents will probably be in attendance.

Clark said they’ll talk about solutions to address some of the problems. “Right now it’s the odor from the dead algae that’s floating and has gathered at Wakefield.  It’s a problem, there’s no question it’s a problem. We have to do something to address it. But right now what is going to be the overall long term solution to blue green algae is still up in the air.”
