Weather permitting KDOT will make a traffic switch at the Interstate 70 / US 77 interchange on the southwest side of Junction City next Monday, August 22. If all goes according to plan the mainline US 77 traffic will be switched head-to-head on the east side of US 77.

Both of the new ramp loops will be activated for westbound Interstate 70 wanting to go north or south on US 77, and for US 77 traffic north and southbound wanting to go east on I-70.

All off ramp locations will be required to stop and yield to US 77 traffic.

A previous US 77 southbound detour ( using K-18 to turn around ) will be removed at the completion of the switch.

KDOT announced the planned changes in an email to Geary County Emergency Management Director Garry Berges.
